When I first heard that Churchill Downs was hosting HullabaLOU Music Festival July 23-25, my immediate reaction was to contact the folks I went to Bonnaroo with this year and see if they wanted to go. Then I read the festival's lineup. As Louey Ville posted on her blog, "You've gotta wonder who these folks consulted with when planning this festival."

It's not clear how many audience members realized that Wednesday night at Nashville's Sommet Center probably was their last Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concert. After almost two straight years of touring, Springsteen and E Street are going on hiatus after tonight's show in Buffalo. With most of the band members in their 60s, saxophonist Clarence "Big Man" Clemons's health issues and recent remarks from band members, the odds are good that Nashville saw one of rock's greatest live acts' third-to-last show.

The mood and vibe of Roger Daltrey and his touring band is fun, relaxed and good-natured. The tour has just said goodbye to Southern Indiana and is heading towards the windy city. "The positive reviews are merited," says Zach Everson in louisville.com. "They're not just critics giving a sop to a teenage idol!"

Roger Daltrey isn't The Who's wordsmith, but his introduction to Saturday night's solo concert at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana's Showroom was spot on: "There's enough misery out there," Daltrey said just after walking onstage to a standing ovation from the near-capacity crowd. "Let's have some fun." And for the next 1:45, Daltrey, his surprisingly tight band and the mostly middle-age audience did just that during an 18-song set that mixed Who classics and rarities with releases from Daltrey's solo career and some of the 65-year-old's favorites by the likes of Johnny Cash and Mose Allison.

Roger Daltrey, the frontman for The Who, is bringing his Use It or Lose It tour to the Horseshoe Southern Indiana's Showroom Saturday night. The tour is Daltrey's first solo one since 1985. Expect to hear material from his solo catalog, cover songs and, of course, works from the world's greatest rock and roll band, The Who (any Stones who'd like to challenge me on that superlative can line up on Bardstown Road for a butt whooping tonight).
