The Genunix wiki has < http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_build_Mono_on_Solaris instructions > on how to build Mono for the Solaris operating system. Although I doubt that Sun will ever embrace .NET, It's nice to see that not every Solaris user is a Java fanatic.

< http://www.cendio.com/seamlessrdp SeamlessRDP > allows you to leverage rdesktop in rootless mode, making individual Windows applications < appear on your Linux desktop >. It looks pretty cool. If I had a windows system around here somewhere I would test it. If somebody wants to try it out and write a segment about it, I would love to include it in the next edition of Linux.Ars.

Want to get free software running on your expensive new Macbook? This < http://desrt.mcmaster.ca/macbook.xhtml tutorial > explains how to install and configure Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on Apple's hardware. Sleep, backlight control, and advanced touchpad features are not supported, but it looks like most of the important stuff is there (including wireless functionality). The iSight isn't quite supported yet, but Ronald Bultje < http://blogs.gnome.org/view/rbultje/2006/07/08/0 thinks > that the USB VC driver might be able to work with it.
