Intended for developers that are interested in porting applications to the new platform, KDE4 is still very experimental. This release showcases initial ports the base kdelibs to Qt4, and contains an initial implementation of KDE D-Bus support.

Trolltech has < http://www.trolltech.com/company/newsroom/announcements/press.2006-07-14.7914556269/ released > a technology preview of Jambi, which provides Java support for Qt. This could eventually make it possible for KDE developers to use Java. I hope Trolltech also considers adding .NET support at some point in the future. Unsurprisingly, Jambi is not yet compatible with GCJ/Classpath.

The KDE team has officially announced < http://dot.kde.org/1152645965/ project Unity >, an effort to synchronize the KHTML and WebKit code bases, and port the whole thing to Qt4.
