An article showing that the acai berry and colon cleanse blogs are fake. Many of them build on Oprah Winfrey and Dr Oz's names.

Many myths of stretching are put to rest in this post. Stretching is overated and this post explains why.

The key to muscle mass is a high enough volume of lifts to induce a bit of damage to the muscles. After the muscle is damaged it is important to rest that muscle enough for a full recovery. Ideally when that muscle is recovered, it will be slightly bigger. Over time this builds a larger muscle. The key to muscle tone is to do less volume of sets, but work out more frequently.

The most unproductive part of any diet or exercise plan that is aimed at burning body fat is the first two weeks. It is tough because people need to have a little faith during the toughest time of a weight loss plan. My way of thinking about a diet is this...don't plan on losing any body fat at all the first two weeks. If you do, just look at is as a bonus.

As a man, you were born with a muscle that drives women wild. When a woman sees a nice one she gasps in excitement. Women talk about this area of a man's body quite a bit…but most men don't realize it. It is almost taboo to talk about in fitness circles. No…it's not "that" muscle. Get your mind out of the gutter!

Well water retention isn't exactly the enemy of muscle tone, but it will tend to cover it up a bit. If you are pretty lean and only have a "4 pack" showing instead of a "6 pack" it is possible that you are a victim of water retention. A word of warning before we discuss this in more detail…don't use the excuse that you are "holding water" when you still have plenty of fat to burn. Water retention typically only matters once you get somewhat lean.

I have been guilty in the past of not giving steady state aerobics any respect. I am a big believer in high intensity interval training because it is extremely effective at burning body fat. I LOVE high intensity interval training. It is quick and gets results, but obviously steady state aerobics have great advantages as well. In this article I will talk about combining the two to maximize fat loss.

A big argument for eating 6 meals per day, is that the 6 small meals supposedly increases the metabolic rate. It is also argued that if you skip meals, you metabolism will shut down and your body will hoard fat. Well the British Journal of Nutrition has cited a study which proves this theory wrong.

Arthur Jones, the inventor of the Nautilus machines, passed away at the age of 80 on August 28, 2007. He was a radical thinker who completely went against the popular fitness ideas of his day. I consider him a mentor and a true pioneer when it came to fitness. Arthur first came out with his Nautilus machines in 1970.

Famous philosopher Derek Zoolander once asked this great question…"Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?". Obviously that is a tough question! Let me think on that…

I am an opinionated fitness advisor, who believes that too much muscle ruins the look of a physique. I believe that most people would rather look like a "Hollywood" Actor or Actress, than look like a Bulky Bodybuilder.

Have you ever heard of the "Tabata Protocol"? It isn't a brand new way of performing cardio, but it is rarely discussed in fitness circles anymore. It is really too bad, because I think many people could benefit tremendously by incorporating it into their workout routines.

The Internet is a wonderful place to learn about "stuff"...the problem is that there is just too much stuff out there at times. Take the topic of fitness for instance. I did a Google search for the term "fitness" and ended up with 363 Million results! So how do you find the best info out of millions of fitness blogs?

The popular thing to say when we see a skinny Hollywood actress like Jessica Alba is this..."she needs to put on some weight" -or- "she needs to put some meat on her bones". Is this just something we say to make people feel better about themselves for being overweight?

Have you ever had a "hint" of a six pack abs, but not as good as you see in the magazines? Are your muscles "kind of" toned, but you want better muscle tone? I may know your problem and I have a solution for you. This goes against what is currently being taught in many gyms…and that is why I'm drawn to it…plus it works extremely well!

Here is the deal…losing your hair sucks! It is MUCH better to have a full head of hair if you are a guy. Women do prefer a full head of hair the majority of the time. There is no getting around it! So what do you do if you are losing your hair?

I just wanted to say "thanks"! I have been working out in the same gym as you for the past 19 years and I've rarely spoken to you. I know you must think I'm a "pretty boy" for doing cardio and NOT doing hardcore things like yelling and dropping weights. Oh well…maybe you will like me better after this "thank you" letter.

I think it is sad when people try to knock down others who are succeeding in life. Now that Tiger Woods is in amazing shape, people are accusing him of using steroids. I think it is easy to justify not achieving much in life, by discounting the accomplishments of others.

So why would a guy want to concentrate on building square pecs instead of rounded pecs? Well…the more rounded a guy's chest muscles look, the more they look like breasts. That probably isn't the look most men are shooting for.

Okay, there is only one reason I'm throwing this embarrassing picture out onto the Web. I think it is important to take advice from people who "walk the walk", not just "talk the talk". Although I look like a dork in this picture, it does show you that I am actually in good shape.
