And what was it that the Iraqi people did to America? I can t think of anything. Remember they had nothing to do with 9/11, had no organized Al-Qaeda, and was definitely not a threat to America. So why did we do this to them? We should never forget that Iraq didn t ask for this. Yes they were under the thumb of a brutal Dictator, but this war was not of their choosing. And the result of the carnage has been a destroyed Iraq, an uncertain future for the Iraqi survivors of this war, years of inadequate Iraqi infrastructure to endure for those survivors, and the guarantee that other countries of our World will try to rip off their one resource that could restore their ability to recover - their oil.

The pro-war crowd has been emphasizing the recent drop in American casualties in Iraq, measured by the month, but the fact remains that 2007 has been the most lethal year of war for Americans, and it s not over yet.

Unembedded reporter Dahr Jamail discusses the continuing quagmire in Iraq, how the “surge” was just to appease Americans and buy time, how the decline in murders is due to the ethnic cleansing being complete, U.S. support for Iraqi separatists, and more

The Moratorium, inspired by the Vietnam War Moratorium in 1969, is designed to grow, expand, and escalate over time, recognizing that the struggle to end the Iraq war will be a long-term one. Organizers say interest and participation are steadily growing.

So let me be clear: If we lose in Iraq, the American people will not be to blame. We cannot be accused of lacking a will that was never wanted or called upon to begin with.

Pass the popcorn and watch the Iraqis kill each other and a few of our boys too, while Viva Viagra blares from the screen. Bush Administration Neo Cons prefers Americans disconnected and out of the loop, therefore as we ignore it, we become accomplices to this horrid reality in Iraq.

The question for the U.S. Congress, however, is whether the American taxpayers are now subsidizing terrorism directed at the Turks in order to further the War Party s agenda.
