A question I often hear is, "How do I clear a form?" Initially the answer seems very straightforward - a one-liner in jQuery: $('form :input').val(""); But upon closer examination we find that this is a bad way to solve the problem.

As developers, we have more and more JavaScript libraries to choose from and, of course, the option not to use any at all. Over time, we each tend to favor one method of coding over another. For those who’d like to learn more about jQuery, one of the more popular libraries, here’s a crash course written with code-savvy web designers in mind.

However, during the course of that event, some outstanding issues, with how the test suites work, were uncovered. All Selenium Assertions can be used in 3 modes: "assert", "verify", and "waitFor". For example, you can "assertText", "verifyText" and "waitForText". When an "assert" fails, the test is aborted. When a "verify" fails, the test will continue execution, logging the failure. This allows a single "assert" to ensure that the application is on the correct page, followed by a bunch of "verify" assertions to test form field values, labels, etc.
