Come enjoy outdoor movies and fish fry at Discovery World’s “Fish Fry and a Flick” on the lakefront. All movies are free with a fish fry dinner and the outdoor films begin at dusk.
The city recreation department will sponsor an outdoor movie night this Saturday at Millville’s Riverfront Park, at the intersection of Buck and Main streets. The outdoor film, shown on a giant inflatable movie screen, will be fun for the whole family.
The adventures of a lion, zebra, giraffe and a hippo will come to life on a 65-foot-high outdoor movie screen when this summer’s “Screenings under the Stars” Free Outdoor Movies series kicks off with the animated hit Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008, PG) Thursday, July 9, at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. It will be followed by The Dark Knight (2008, PG-13) on Thursday, August 20.
While the Outdoor Film Festival in Grant Park doesn’t kick off until mid-July, you don’t have to wait until then to get your fix of alfresco movie magic. For the 9th year, the Chicago Park District is hosting Movies in the Parks with screenings of current and classic movies in more than 130 citywide parks from June 12 – Sept. 1. Admission is free, and all movies begin at dusk.
Portland Parks and Recreation presents outdoor Movies in the Park this summer! These outdoor cinema events are great for the whole family, and best of all, they’re free! Movies begin at dark. Pre-movie entertainment begins at 6:30 PM so bring a picnic and enjoy!

Jodi Rynearson remembers growing up in Roseburg when there weren’t all that many wholesome activities for youngsters. That’s why she was so excited to hear about Movies in the Park and its family-friendly approach to entertainment. The outdoor movies in Roseburg are a great family-friendly activity and fun for both children and adults.
School’s out and the city of Killeen is ready to provide some family-friendly entertainment with the return of its Hot Summer Nights Outdoor Concert and the outdoor Movies in the Park series. The outdoor events and movies under the stars all kick off tonight with a show at 8 by Lance Wade Thomas, a country crooner from Holland.
The show will go on. That’s the Movies in the Park event planned for Saturday night at Stewart Park in Roseburg. Despite damages caused by inclement weather, the outdoor movies are scheduled to screen as planned.
Locally Grown, a free entertainment series in downtown Chapel Hill, encourages everyone to Buy Local, Eat Local and Be Local while enjoying live concerts and outdoor movies featuring live music from local performers, movies and family-friendly activities.
