Tree planting offsets are one of the most controversial types of carbon offsets, and for good reason. Tree planting offsets include planting new forest and re-planting forest. Although these types of offsets sound good, they are vulnerable to allot of criticism.
Of all the things you can do to help stop pollution and global warming, changing your driving habits is one of the easiest and least expensive of them all. As with a home, it all starts with efficiency, and efficiency in a car means that we must be more efficient with our miles traveled and our time spent in the car.
Alternative energy or green energy is an environmentally friendly, renewable and non-polluting source of power. Alternative energy comes in many different shapes and forms such as solar power, wind power, tidal power, geothermal power, hydro-electric power, hydrogen power, biomass power, and wave power.
The typical home spends 20% to 40% of their annual energy cost to keep water hot. The average home uses electrical and/or gas water heating tanks ranging in size from 20 to 80 gallons. Energy is used to keep the water in the tank at a constant temperature (which the home owner sets) even when the water is not in use. The entire concept and most systems are very inefficient, however there are a few things you can do to increase efficiency of your water heating system.
Never before has it been such an opportune time to renovate or modify your home to be more energy efficient. There are a plethora of grants, Federal tax credits, State rebates and buy off programs, energy-efficient mortgages and even Utility sponsored rebate programs. If you plan everything right and use all of the available resources, you can get a home energy renovation for a fraction of the cost.
Do Your Part and help save Earths future by reducing your environmental footprint while saving tens of thousands of dollars in the process. The solution is easy and cheap
My Neutral existence is a social networking website for environmentalist and green practitioners alike. Our web 2.0 social system is designed to help the non green to become green and the green to become greener and collectively reduce our environmental footprint
A professor at Purdue University recently invented and patented a way of using an aluminum alloy to produce Hydrogen from water. The alloy is a mixture of aluminum and gallium and when mixed with water, the strong attraction between the aluminum and the oxygen in the water is what actually causes the water to release the hydrogen and create aluminum oxide as a result.
Recently Global Warming has come under a lot of skepticism and has unfortunately turned into a debatable political issue. Fortunately and unfortunately, a NASA satellite recently detected proof of huge areas of snow melt in Antarctica in January of 2005. The QuikScat satellite detects snowmelt by using radar pulses that bounce off of the ice that forms when snowmelt refreezes.
The solution to climate change and global warming is now more apparent than ever. With a turnout of about 26,000 people, the AIA annual Architectural Convention in San Antonio, Texas concentrated on the theme of “Growing Beyond Green.”
