Merely two weeks after closing what is considered as the most successful Olympic Games in history, China once again displayed an amazing program to herald the opening of the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games (Paralympics) in front of a capacity crown at the National "Bird's Nest" Stadium.
Another group of world-class athletes are waiting in the wings, eagerly anticipating for their turn at the world stage of Beijing. They belong to another group of athletes who have similarly honed their skills for a crack at gold medal glory every four years. They are the athletes of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
The Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games may not be as glamorous and well-known as the Olympics, very few of us may even get a chance to see it on TV. But these Games can produce sports superstars of its own, athletes that can rival the feat of Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt out.
