Harmonix and MTV Games have announced the Rock Band: Metal Track Pack for release on October 13, 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii. The included 20 songs will cost you $30.

Activision now owns RedOctane, the publishers of the mega-hit Guitar Hero. According to a Security and Exchange Commission filing, the deal involved $99.9 million in cash and Activision stock. Let's hope Guitar Hero II makes it worth their while.
