Square Enix is bringing the long-awaited Final Fantasy III to Nintendo ’s DS. It’s the only Final Fantasy game to never be released outside of Japan, but that doesn't make it any less popular in Japan itself, quite the contrary.
The new trailer shows lots of world map footage. Plenty of airship traveling and chocobo riding! Square Enix announced they have delayed the U.S. release date for Final Fantasy III on DS for two weeks.
In an interview with Nikkei Business Online, Wada explains why next-generation games must be innovative and hints at a new, possibily hardware-based release from Square Enix.

Pre-sales of the game have reached 450,000 in the Land of the Rising Sun! Nearly half a million and the game still has a few weeks before release there. The game is expected in the US in November, 2006, although September 12 was hinted at before.
Square Enix has released a brand new Final Fantasy III video on their official website for the DS game. It shows both Full Motion Video and in-game scenes.
Square Enix just revealed its final summer lineup. The company plans to ship four different games. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (already out), Dirge of Cerberus, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.

Japan ’s Nikkei Net news service reported today that Square Enix is currently working on a sequel to Final Fantasy XI. I guess we'll be original and call it Final Fantasy XI-TWO.
