Neversoft has dropped online play from the PS3 version of Tony Hawk ’s Project 8. On the Xbox 360 it will feature: support of Live, classic two-player challenges, a new game called Walls (which plays like Snake or Tron), and up to eight-player online games.
There will potentially be four sequels to the PS2 rythm game Guitar Hero. The new games will probably get downloadable songs and other relevant content.
Activision now owns RedOctane, the publishers of the mega-hit Guitar Hero. According to a Security and Exchange Commission filing, the deal involved $99.9 million in cash and Activision stock. Let's hope Guitar Hero II makes it worth their while.
With the 007 Casino Royale movie opening November 17th 2006, you ’d expected to see Activision’s first 007 game at the same time. Apparently the rights won’t be exclusive to Activision until September 2007, and the company is planning to release its first 007 game in conjunction with the next unnamed film, planned for May 2nd, 2008.
Activision is releasing Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam exclusively on Wii in the fourth quarter of 2006. Expected to arrive in November, the game is being shown off in the included video by an Activision staff member to give you a feel for how the game works on the Nintendo Wii.
