Blizzard Entertainment today announced that the release date for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, the first expansion for World of Warcraft, is delayed until January 2007. By adding a few extra weeks to the development cycle beyond its original target date, Blizzard will be able to extend the closed beta test and further refine the new content that will ship with the game.

Blizzard announced at the Austin Game Conference this morning, that World of Warcraft has reached 7 million active subscribers worldwide! What you didn't know is that they are actually very much trying to solve customer complaints, in part by adding more and more servers to WoW.

Blizzard has unveiled the new spells, abilities and talents that will be available to character classes from level 60 to the new level cap of 70 when the Burning Crusade expansion will be released on November 15, 2006. Video of the character creator of the two new races is shown.

All you World of Warcraft fans can now download patch 1.12.0. It adds what comes down to 7 pages of WoW tweaks/updates, including Cross-Realm Battlegrounds and World Player Versus Player.
Blizzard COO Paul Sams revealed their MMORGP World of Warcraft plans today: “Starting with The Burning Crusade, every year thereafter we plan on bringing out a new expansion set - so every 12 months.”
Lead game designer Tom Chilton suggests that, in general, the expansion's dungeons will "have a boss fight about every 30 minutes or so, give or take," in order to keep the experience from seeming too slow.
