To use saved data on a PlayStation 1 and/or 2 memory card on your PS3, you can copy the save data onto a virtual memory card within the (PS3) hard disk. This requires a PS2/PSone memory card adaptor to copy the save data to your PlayStation 3. Great news for those looking to replace their PSone/PS2 with an all-in-one backwards compatible PS3.

The PlayStation 3 could be backwardly compatible with pretty much every original PS2 and PSone game according to IBM’s Tom Reeves, the man who’s in charge of semiconductor and technology services at IBM.

EyeToy, Sony’s motion-sensing camera add-on and PlayStation One emulation, will be hitting European shelves in October 2006, a month later than originally announced by Sony. No one outside of Sony has any idea what games to expect.
