iRedux is a Sound & Music Re-Appropriation and Re-Interpretation System for Gallery Installation & Live Performance. iRedux aims to generate discourse surrounding issues fundamental to music download-culture – those of ownership and authorship. Through a combination of pre-set digital signal processes and aleatoric remixing, iRedux generates unique and original music, utilising the compositions of other composers. iRedux will re-appropriate an album, chewing up old music and giving birth to new sounds – using the original album as inspiration whilst simultaneously corrupting and destroying it.

The ie6-upgrade-warning is a little script (7.9kb) that displays a warning message politely informing the user to upgrade the browser to a newer version (links to newest IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome are provided). The webpage is still visible behind a transparent background, but access to it is prevented. The idea is to force users to upgrade from IE6 and avoid the website from a bad reputation that website is not rendering correctly in IE6. The script is completely translatable in any language, very easy to set-up (one line of code in webpage and one parametter configuration).

Troika is a multi-disciplinary art and design practice founded in 2003 by Conny Freyer, Eva Rucki and Sebastien Noel, who met while studying at the Royal College of Art in London. With backgrounds in graphic and communication, art, product design and engineering, we develop a variety of self-initiated and commissioned projects that are both engaging and demanding to the user, from printed matter to product design and custom art installations. Our approach focuses on the contamination between the arts and design disciplines and is born out of the same love for simplicity, playfulness, and an essential desire for provocation.

Design and the Elastic Mind explores the reciprocal relationship between science and design in the contemporary world by bringing together design objects and concepts that marry the most advanced scientific research with attentive consideration of human limitations, habits, and aspirations. The exhibition highlights designers’ ability to grasp momentous changes in technology, science, and history—changes that demand or reflect major adjustments in human behavior—and translate them into objects that people can actually understand and use. This Web site presents over three hundred of these works, including fifty projects that are not featured in the gallery exhibition.
