«JP1 is a type of common interface which connects many types of universal remote control to a personal computer for reprogramming. The unofficial specification was developed by remote manufacturer UEI, which builds controls for many other companies, and has been widely exploited to give high-end features to low-cost remotes. Compatible models include One For All, Radio Shack, Scientific Atlanta, Sony, and ReplayTV. The interface was named by the labeled connector found inside the battery compartments of these remotes.»

«NMEA 0183 (or NMEA for short) is a combined electrical and data specification for communication between marine electronic devices such as depth finders, navigation instruments, and GPS receivers. It has been defined by, and is controlled by, the US based National Marine Electronics Association. It is also commonly used for GPS receivers other than on board boats. ~ The NMEA 0183 standard uses a simple ASCII, serial communications protocol that defines how data is transmitted in a "sentence" from one "talker" to one or more "listeners". The standard also defines the contents of each sentence (message) type so that all listeners can parse messages accurately.»

«A keyboard shortcut (or accelerator key, shortcut key, hot key, key binding, keybinding, key combo, etc.) is a key or set of keys that performs a predefined function. These functions can often be done via some other, more indirect mechanism, such as using a menu, typing a longer command, and/or using a pointing device. By reducing such sequences to a few keystrokes, this can often save the user time, hence "shortcut".»

«Thermoregulation is the ability of an organism to keep its body temperature within certain boundaries, even when temperature surrounding is very different. This process is one aspect of homeostasis: a dynamic state of stability between an animal's internal environment and its external environment (the study of such processes in zoology has been called ecophysiology or physiological ecology). If the body is unable to maintain a normal temperature and it increases significantly above normal, a condition known as hyperthermia occurs. The opposite condition, when body temperature decreases below normal levels, is known as hypothermia. ~[...]»

«Mirtazapine is an antidepressant introduced by Organon International in 1996 used for the treatment of mild to severe depression. Mirtazapine has a tetracyclic chemical structure and is classified as a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). It is the only tetracyclic antidepressant that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat depression. Because of its unique pharmacologic profile, mirtazapine is virtually devoid of anticholinergic effects, serotonin-related side effects,[1] and adrenolytic effects (orthostatic hypotension and sexual dysfunction). As such it may be preferable to SSRIs in some patients. Mirtazapine is relatively safe if an overdose is taken.[2]»

«Cuphea oil is oil pressed from the seeds of several species of the genus Cuphea. Interest in cuphea oils is relatively recent, as a source of medium-chain triglycerides like those found in coconut oil and palm oil. Cuphea oil is of interest because it grows in climates where palms - the source of both of these oils - do not grow.»
