I am sure people have said this already, but it seems that Marc Andreesen's remark about Netscape is now coming true..
I thought that having a part of an OS online an interesting idea.
I think Firefox does not have a good chance, let alone Chrome, the browser, in competing with IE as long as the majority is using the Windows OS. The key in this game is to come up with an OS that sales people at the Best Buy to say something to the effect of "this Chrome OS is very easy to use, and you wouldn't have a problem if you used Windows, it is better, and cheaper."
But anyway, there isn't yet a desktop OS from Google..
I wonder if Microsoft can use any interoperability/ standard card in competing with Google..
