The thing I like about The Fold is fact that it straddles the camp/surrealism line in a very Jack Smith-esque way. Just when you think you're settling down for 15 minutes of all-out silliness and winking, it throws a moment of serious, disturbing weirdness.
Last night, I was fortunate enough to attend a screening of "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" as well as a live performance by the band itself. The movie is inspiring without being sappy, and it is funny, but these guys are no joke. It's pure and noble in way that's impossible to fathom until you see it.
Lots of new stuff over at blip.tv this week. The homepage has a new look and an "explore" page is now in place. A bunch of other stuff has been improved as well, like support for Adobe Media Player and Pando and the ability to reorder posts. And finally, the Learning Center is now open for business.
