We've been asked several times by our customers whether Aspose.Words is supported on Mono. Now we've done some preliminary tests running Aspose.Words on Mono 1.2 and we have not encountered any problems so far! It seems to work great. This makes Aspose.Words the only library available in the world that deals with Microsoft Word documents on Mono.

Aspose.Words is now featuring the First full-scale non-Microsoft DOC to WordML conversion. We have thoroughly checked the conversion quality on several hundreds of tests to ensure that the WordML files exactly conform to the same standards as that of MS Word. The conversion using Aspose.Words is also extremely fast and can crunch about 2-3 MB of a complex and mixed-content document in a second.

RTF was developed around 20 years ago and many third-parties simply did not follow the rules quite frivolously and that became a cause to produce heaps of awkward and corrupted RTF documents.
