We've been asked several times by our customers whether Aspose.Words is supported on Mono. Now we've done some preliminary tests running Aspose.Words on Mono 1.2 and we have not encountered any problems so far! It seems to work great. This makes Aspose.Words the only library available in the world that deals with Microsoft Word documents on Mono.

We have thoroughly checked the conversion quality on several hundreds of tests to ensure that the WordML files exactly conform to the same standards as that of MS Word. An analysis showed, a document in MS Word 2003 was tested to convert into RTF and it took 8 sec for opening and 3 sec for saving the same document on the same machine. In comparison, the same document was imported by using Aspose.Words 4.1.1 and it consumed 7.28 sec to open and 1.91 sec to save the document.
