I went on http://www.squidoo.com/squidwho/hqyou and looked up Dave Winer !

Dave Winer believes he is “one of the most hated people on the Internet” (full blog post). We tip our hats to him. It’s quite an achievement. Considering all the trolls, jerks, and narcissists (yes, me too) who post like crazy on the Web, it’s no mean feat to be hated by so many. This article on Mr Winer was written by a Cub Reporter for the Digital Daily Planet CNET Rafe Needleman I looked him up also not very exciting ! But the best Daily Planet reporters retired The Daily Planet is a fictional broadsheet newspaper in the DC Comics Universe, appearing mostly in the stories of Superman. The Daily Planet is based in Metropolis and employs Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen; its Editor In Chief is Perry White. Within the Superman comics, the Daily Planet is depicted as a famous nationally published newspaper of the same caliber as the New York Times. But if you want to cut the Bordom and have fun build yourself a Lens on Squidoo a venture from Seth Godin !

Kwame Kilpatrick, Mayor of Detroit, Michigan
    Image via Wikipedia

Great welcome for Kwame Kilpatrick ex mayor of Detroit ! To the Lone Star State !

January 29, 2009

Kwame is coming to Texas?

Thank you for the the good wishes as Kwame sets his sights on my current state of Texas. I don’t blame Kwame for planning to leave Detroit but I guess I don’t understand why. Why leave a state where you have the support of a large portion of ignorant people in your hometown? Nobody is Dallas is going to buy his crap because he isn’t from there and doesn’t have as many business contact as he did in Detroit. January 29, 2009 This is from the blog of former WKRK Air-Personality Gregg Henson. You can hear my new Internet show with Michelle McKormick @ www.greggandmichelle.com
Greg I am sure Kwame will find a few Pick Pocket Preachers and Polticians in Texas to support him !

steve rubel - Icerocket Blog Search

I just used Ice Rocket to Search Blogger Steve Rubel he had mentioned Ice Rocket Nice Results-

Mr Rubel has an excellent content creation platform-

“IceRocket is a jewel of a site that has slowly been improving. I highlighted it recently in my post on the state of blog search. Today they unveiled a cool new feature that blends tweets, blog posts, news stories, videos and images. The feature is called Ice Rocket Big Buzz. Founder Blake Rhodes pinged me about it earlier today. (A larger view of the above image is here)

IceRocket Big Buzz fills a void that we desperately need - a real-time view of news events and memes. This feature gets us closer to such a utopia by pulling together live web sources into a single page. Take, for example a newsy search for plane crash. As I write this post it’s filling up with lots of very current information all about today’s top news story. This includes videos from YouTube and images from Flickr. Plus you can track all of it via RSS with a link at the top right. Sounds like a dream for journalists.

This is a great first start. I would love to see the page automatically refresh and have a mobile version. In addition, an open API would be helpful too. That way, should I wish, I can add a feed from Friendfeed for items that users are only sharing there.

Still, I am glad to see that someone is out there trying to solve the live web search problem because, as Scoble shows today with the plane crash story, it’s where the action is. Google is sleeping at the wheel here.” Steve Rubel Friday, January 16, 2009

In 2008, Two Contrarians Showed Blogging is Alive and Well - Authenticities - Edelman Digital

I like the fact that Steve Rubel supports using stats.

“Earlier this year Wired magazine created a stir when it declared that starting a blog today for thought leadership or money is fruitless. “The time it takes to craft sharp, witty blog prose is better spent expressing yourself on Flickr, Facebook, or Twitter,” Paul Boutin wrote.

There’s validity to the argument. For example, there’s no way I would start a gadget blog given the competition. Not only do you have Engadget, Gizmodo and Crunchgear, but now the media’s getting into the game as well. The New York Times recently launched Gadgetwise.

Wired’s thesis is certainly the conventional wisdom today. Twitter, Friendfeed and Facebook all posted massive growth this year. Blogging, meanwhile, declined by some measures. Daily postings receded from 1.5 million per day last year to 900,000 in 2008, according to Technorati.

Conventional wisdom, however, is where you find contrarians thriving. And in 2008 two stood out - Jeremiah Owyang and Chris Brogan. As you can see from the Google Trends traffic chart (also below), which includes Micro Persuasion (my blog), they’re eating my lunch! ” Steve Rubel 22 dec 2008

A little girl once asked the Great Buckminster Fuller what he was interested in ! Fuller said everything !Richard Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller (July 12, 1895 – July 1, 1983)[1] was an American architect, author, designer, futurist, inventor and visionary. He was the second president of Mensa.[2] He lends his name to a family of complex carbon structures called Buckminsterfullerenes, also known as “Bucky Balls.” My other favorite is Freeman Dyson Freeman John Dyson FRS (born December 15, 1923) is a British-born[1] American[2] theoretical physicist and mathematician, famous for his work in quantum field theory, solid-state physics, and nuclear engineering.

in Rick Warren is over the top (Scripting News) on Scripting News
As i’ve said many times before,
maybe in todays world it takes a german to spot the nazi,
because we know them when we see them.
And this Warren guy clearly is!

as for “embracing” him in the inauguration:
freedom of speech is one thing: offering them a platform and an endorsement is another.
Martin Niemöller put it clearly like this:

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me–
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Rick Warren is over the top Scripting News.

Seth’s Blog: You’re not going to win a Pulitzer Prize

This post by Seth Godin will only be understood by the WWW readers ! The old media ia very close

to joining Custer

So I do read Zimbio http://www.zimbio.com/

An Interactive Magazine With 10 Million Readers A Month

The part that amazes me is how fast Print Media is losing readership ! I am 72 years old have read a lot all my life ,in the last five years I have not bought a newspaper ! I read part’s of the news online and very little ! I can get more interesting and relevant content from Bloggers like Winer,Rubel,Brogan ,Godin and others ! If Tom Friedman of NYT has an independent blog I would be the first subscriber ! I can set it up on Tabbloid ! recently cartoonists are being fired from print media in droves http://cagle.com/news/blog/

Here’s how the tech industry cycle goes.

“A new generation of young techies comes along, takes a look at the current stack, finds it too daunting (rightly so) and decides to start over from scratch. They find that they can make things happen that the previous generation couldn’t cause they were so mired in the complexity of the systems they had built. The new systems become popular with “power users” — people who yearn to overcome the limits of the previous generation. It’s exhilirating!”-Dave Winer Scripting News

I am not so sure this is news ! What the paper should be discussing is the Next Detroit Mayoral Election and how to eliminate the Pick Pocket Politicians !

Time to be Frank » The Holiday Spirit

Excellent Holiday Thoughts ! from Frank Eliason

“I realized this weekend that we sometimes forget the meaning of this time of year. I do not mean the religious connotation that comes from Christmas or Hanukkah. I mean the giving spirit and togetherness before the winterfest really takes place. Most people in the winter spend more time in the house and not as much visiting family and loved ones. From November to December this is really about family and friends. Unfortunately when I was driving on Friday and I heard a few news reports that certainly did not have this meaning. Most of you have heard of both of the incidents by now: The trampling to death of an employee at WalMart and the shooting at Toys R Us. Have we truly lost sight of what this time of year is about?”
