For the iPod generation, October 19, 2008 at 7:55 p.m. marked what could be considered the most pivotal moment in their lives--a music video premiere by The Jonas Brothers. The long-awaited release of the "Lovebug" music video has caused a stir among tweens because of its months-long buzz, complete with behind-the-scenes clips, making-of's, sneak peaks, teasers and what seemed to be an endless wait. (It's the adult equivalent of waiting in line at the Post Office). At this year's MTV Music Video Awards, the Jonas Brothers gave a "Seaseme Street" style performance of the song--with the stoop and all.
So what are your thoughts? Is it anticlimatic or over-the-moon?
When Michael Phelps opted for a skimpy Speedo over a full-body swimsuit, nobody complained. And with good reason, because let's face it--his face isn't his real money maker.
Male stars, just like their female counterparts, are being lusted--and--ridiculed for their physiques. The right swimwear can make a celebrity the hottie-of-the-moment, or a long running joke.
"Cosmopolitan" magazine recently explored the "10 Best and Worst Celebrity Speedo Moments," so I present to you a more comprehensive version of the stars in their Speedos. Here are the rules: No movie stills, no modeling shoots--the stars must have used conscious and independent decision making in their attire.
NOTE: Images consist of male celebrities in Speedos -- yes, the swim wear. You may not find these images suitable to view at WORK or in front of minors.
So here we go:
When Ike & Tina Turner recorded "River Deep, Mountain High" in 1966, it was commercially unsuccessful in the United States, but became a huge hit in the UK. It has since become one of Tina Turner's signature songs--a concert staple, having been covered by many artists. Celine Dion, Fefe Dobson, The Supremes, Annie Lennox, Neil Diamond and Tom Jones are just a few names that to take a stab at what "Beatle" George Harrison declared "A perfect record from start to finish." "Rolling Stone" magazine put it at #33 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and Turner is represented in the Grammy Hall of Fame for the song.
So who did it best?
If Madonna's looking for a well-hung lover with a penchant for licking her stiletto-wearing feet, she has found her match in Yankees player Alex Rodriguez. According to Ianundercover.com, a top New York City model is ready to tell all about A-Rod's past. "I know him very well and let me tell you he’s the most well hung man I’ve ever been with.” she said. "Alex is a player, a big player who cannot go a night without getting laid. And he’s got a big foot fetish."
The story is still under development. Check Ianundercover.com for more.
This is quite possibly the worst editing job I've ever seen, starring Grace Jones in "A View to Kill." I'm not sure if her character is supposed to be a Marvel Comics superhero or a WWE diva, but watch how she lifts a man over her head, then tosses him like paper going into a wastebasket.
