Pick from three levels of play. Level 1 will work with rhyming words. Level 2 will add real words. The 3rd level tests your ability to use real words to solve problems.

Between the Lions has games for children ranging from letter names and sounds to synonyms. It focuses on phonics and phonemic awareness work. The characters are based on the PBS show Between the Lions. Gawain's word is a knight who jousts and by jousting creates words. The words are separated by onset and rime, thus helps teach students the different parts of a word. Boys will probably enjoy this more since it has a knight theme, however it can be used with any young child working on building words and letter sounds. The game speaks all the sounds as well as says the words on the screen, which will help even the emergent reader be successful.
In this game, students choose an ending sound that they would like to use to make words. They click on an ending and then click on a beginning letter or letters to make words. The "bank" stores the words for them.
This game from Starfall allows students to identify the vowel patterns within words and then match/sort those words to the following vowel patterns: ai, ea, oa.

Reggie takes an adventure to many different places through the city. On the adventures, the children are asked to find the corresponding word and picture that rhymes with the object shown. This provides students with the opportunity to practice the phonemic awareness task of rhyming in an interactive and engaging way.
