kwiry is a handy new tool that lets you text messages from your cell phone as a way to remind yourself to do something. This isn’t the first mobile version of tying a string around your finger, but it is one of the more useful I’ve seen to date. As I was reading the introductory email Kwiry sent along, I thought to myself, “something like this would be most useful if it automatically created bookmarks for you on its web component.” To my surprise, I checked out the site and found that’s exactly what Kwiry does, in so many words.
Your submitted reminders are organized in a way that creates a personal collection, and by creating auto searches for each submission, your content is immediately extended to the web. There are two ways to search your submissions: a general web search, and a shopping web search. The two often end up being very similar, and I was rather disappointed with the results given for shopping queries–they often returned zero results. From these auto-searches, you can also select how you’d like to further your search, with additional options from Google to Glimpse to iTunes.
